Kitui Woman Representative Dr. Irene Kasalu has been ranked among Kenya’s top-performing Women Representatives in the latest CountyTrak 2026 Elected Leaders Performance Survey, reinforcing her growing reputation as one of the country’s most effective female legislators in the country.According to the nationwide survey, which collected the views of 87,286 respondents across all 47 counties between January and May 2026, Kasalu earned a 53% performance rating, placing her 9th nationally among all Women Representatives.The ranking also places Kasalu second in the Eastern region, behind only Makueni Woman Representative Rose Museo Mumo, who scored 58%.CountyTrak notes that its ratings reflect citizens’ perceptions of their leaders based on factors such as delivery on campaign promises, transparency, accessibility, communication, responsiveness and visible impact in their communities.The report emphasizes that the survey captures how citizens experience leadership rather than auditing technical parliamentary performance.Kasalu’s strong showing comes at a time when the office of Woman Representative continues to face unique public perception challenges. The report observes that Women Representatives often receive lower ratings because much of their work revolves around advocacy, representation and inclusion roles that are less visible than infrastructure projects commonly associated with MPs.Her placement in the national top ten suggests that Kitui residents increasingly recognize her work and impact despite these challenges.The findings are likely to strengthen Kasalu’s political standing as she continues to build momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
