Kitui Woman Representative Dr. Irene Kasalu has emerged as the top ranked Woman Representative in the latest Politrack Africa Women Rep Performance Matrix. She placed ahead of other leaders assessed in the latest performance evaluation.
According to the results Kasalu scored +5,530 points from 3,623 evaluations making her the leading Woman Representative in the matrix.
Her ratings were particularly strong. 49 per cent of respondents rated her performance as Outstanding while another 28 per cent rated her Good. Combined the two categories account for 77 per cent of the evaluations.
Kasalu received 1,785 Outstanding ratings 1,003 Good ratings 337 Average ratings and 498 Poor ratings.
The latest assessment adds to growing attention around Kasalu’s leadership record as she positions herself for the 2027 Kitui gubernatorial race.
The Politrack results place Kasalu ahead of Jane Njeri of Kirinyaga who scored +4,688 points from 2,951 evaluations and Leah Sankaire of Kajiado who scored +4,234 points from 2,951 evaluations.
A boost for Kasalu’s 2027 bid
The latest ranking provides Kasalu’s supporters with another performance based statistic as they seek to build a case for her gubernatorial bid.
The result comes at a time when the 2027 Kitui gubernatorial contest is gradually taking shape with several prominent political figures positioning themselves for the race.
For Kasalu the findings offer an opportunity to shift the political conversation towards performance experience and delivery rather than political rhetoric.
Her supporters can point to the latest assessment as evidence that her record as Kitui Woman Representative continues to attract positive recognition.
However the Politrack result should be understood in its proper context.
The Women Rep Performance Matrix is a performance assessment and not a direct gubernatorial voting intention poll. Therefore the 77 per cent Good or Outstanding rating should not be presented as 77 per cent support for Kasalu’s gubernatorial campaign.
Instead the result measures how respondents assessed her performance in her current role.
Nevertheless the ranking gives Kasalu another significant talking point as she seeks to convince Kitui voters that her record in Parliament provides a strong foundation for leading the county.
Kasalu’s message: Performance speaks
With the 2027 race expected to become increasingly competitive performance ratings could become an important part of the political narrative.
For Kasalu’s campaign the latest Politrack ranking reinforces a simple message
āLeadership is about performance and performance speaks for itself.ā
With +5,530 points and 77 per cent of evaluations rating her either Good or Outstanding Kasalu has emerged as the leading Woman Representative in the latest Politrack Africa performance matrix.
As the Kitui gubernatorial contest gathers momentum the question will now be whether that strong performance reputation can translate into countywide political support in 2027.
