BREAKING DR.IRENE KASALU TO BE ARRESTED

Residents and social media users from Northern Kenya have called for the arrest and investigation of Kitui Woman Representative Dr. Irene Kasalu over allegations of incitement remarks directed at Somali herders operating in parts of eastern Kenya.
In a wave of online comments following the circulation of an undated video clip, some users argued that law enforcement agencies should apply the same standards used in previous cases involving other individuals accused of ethnic incitement. They specifically referenced a case involving a woman from Garissa, saying similar measures should be extended in this instance.
The video in question, which has not been independently verified, allegedly shows Dr. Kasalu making strong statements concerning Somali herders who have been accused by some local communities of involvement in insecurity incidents affecting residents in Kamba regions. In the clip, she is also heard suggesting that communities should be prepared to defend themselves remarks that have sparked mixed reactions online, with some interpreting them as defensive rhetoric and others as incitement.
The controversy comes in the wake of a deadly incident reported in Tseikuru Sub-county, Kitui County, where seven people were allegedly killed by armed attackers believed by authorities and locals to be linked to herding groups from northern Kenya. The incident has heightened ethnic sensitivities and intensified calls for enhanced security operations in the area.
Security agencies have not yet issued an official statement linking the alleged remarks to any formal investigation, and the authenticity and full context of the circulated video remain unclear.
Meanwhile, political observers warn that rising tensions and unverified online claims risk inflaming already fragile relations between pastoralist and farming communities in the affected regions. They have urged restraint, thorough investigation of all security incidents, and responsible communication from political leaders.
Authorities are expected to provide further updates as investigations into both the security incident in Tseikuru and the viral video continue.
