
Hon. Dr. Irene Kasalu has emerged as the early frontrunner in an online poll tracking public sentiment ahead of the Kitui gubernatorial race.
According to results published by Politrack Africa, Kasalu leads the pack with 35.2% of the vote, garnering 1,030 votes from respondents. Her closest challenger, Hon. Makali Mulu, follows with 26.2% (766 votes), while Hon. Enoch Kiio Wambua places third with 18.8% (550 votes).
Former Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu trails closely behind Wambua with 18.6% (543 votes), indicating a tight contest for the middle ground as the race begins to take shape.
Other candidates collectively account for 0.8% of the vote, while 0.6% of respondents remain undecided, suggesting that although Kasalu has taken an early lead, a significant portion of the electorate could still influence the final dynamics of the race.
The poll sampled 2,927 respondents, offering an early snapshot of the political landscape as potential candidates continue positioning themselves ahead of the highly anticipated contest.
