Dr. Irene Kasalu has rolled out a programme to distribute water tanks to underprivileged families across Kitui County, aimed at easing the burden of water scarcity.
She noted that access to clean water is a basic right and that every family deserves the dignity that comes with having safe water at home.
“I was born and bred in an area where water scarcity was a daily struggle. I understand the pain of walking long distances in search of water,” she said.
Kasalu emphasized that the water tanks are a temporary relief measure necessitated by budget constraints, adding that once elected in 2027, she will prioritize the construction of dams and water pans as a permanent and sustainable solution.
