Kitui County is in mourning following the untimely death of Deacon Denis Maithya of Kasyala Parish, who lost his life in a tragic road accident along the Mwingi–Nguni Road.
In a heartfelt message of condolence, Kasalu joined the Catholic Diocese of Kitui in mourning the passing of the young deacon, describing him as a bright light and a dedicated son of the soil whose service and commitment to faith and community will be deeply missed.
On behalf of his family and the people of the Great Kitui County, Kasalu extended his deepest sympathies to Deacon Maithya’s parents, Mr. Boniface Maithya and Mrs. Cecilia Muia, the Kasyala Parish community, and the entire Catholic Diocese of Kitui during this difficult time.
As the community grapples with this painful loss, words of comfort were drawn from Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” It is a reminder of hope and God’s presence even in moments of deep sorrow.
