
The Kitui Woman Representative and gubernatorial aspirant Dr Irene Kasalu has congratulated the newly elected Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Kitui County officials following their recent victory, urging them to serve the teaching fraternity with diligence, unity, and unwavering integrity.
In her congratulatory message, the leader described the election outcome as a clear vote of confidence by teachers across the county, noting that the responsibility bestowed upon the new officials comes with high expectations.
“Your victory is a testament to the trust and hope that teachers in Kitui County have placed in your leadership. As you assume these important roles, I urge you to remain united, focused, and firmly committed to advancing the welfare of educators,” she said.
She further emphasized the need for the union leadership to remain independent and uncompromised, calling on them to safeguard the interests of teachers without undue influence from any government or external forces.
“Our teachers and schools are the backbone of Kitui’s future. Strong, principled union leadership is essential in protecting their rights, improving working conditions, and ensuring quality education for our children,” she added.
The Woman Representative reaffirmed her support for teachers, pledging to continue championing policies that uplift educators and strengthen the education sector across the county.
