In a strong show of servant leadership and commitment to education, the Kitui County Chief Officer for Agriculture, Gladys Kivoto, on Tuesday extended vital support to learners preparing to transition to Junior Secondary School in Kanziku Ward.
Accompanied by the sitting Member of County Assembly for Kanziku Ward, Hon. Kyalo Kimuli, Ms. Kivoto met students, parents, and teachers in an initiative aimed at easing the shift from primary to junior secondary education under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
Recognizing the financial and emotional challenges many families face at this critical stage, Ms. Kivoto provided learning support materials and offered words of encouragement to the learners. She urged them to remain focused, disciplined, and confident as they embark on a new chapter of their academic journey.
She underscored the central role of education in community development, noting that investing in learners today is an investment in the future of Kanziku Ward and Kitui County at large.
“Every child deserves an equal opportunity to succeed. As leaders, it is our responsibility to walk with our children and ensure that no learner is left behind,” she said.
Hon. Kyalo Kimuli commended Ms. Kivoto for her consistent support of education and social development initiatives within the ward. He reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with county leadership to improve learning environments and ensure learners have the resources they need to thrive.
Parents and guardians expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, describing it as a major morale booster that has lifted the spirits of both learners and families preparing for junior secondary schooling.
The initiative highlighted the power of collaborative leadership and a shared vision of empowering young people through education. As Kanziku learners prepare to step into junior secondary school, the support from leaders such as Gladys Kivoto and Hon. Kyalo Kimuli stands as a beacon of hope and motivation for a brighter future.
