Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has reopened wounds from the 2022 presidential election, alleging that internal sabotage within Azimio denied Raila Odinga victory.

Addressing mourners at a burial ceremony in Murang’a, Sifuna accused Suna East MP Junet Mohamed of mishandling funds meant to pay Azimio election agents. He claimed the money, allegedly provided by former President Uhuru Kenyatta, never reached the agents, leaving several polling stations exposed on election day.

In a striking accusation, Sifuna alleged that the funds were instead diverted for personal use, including being shared among Junet’s four wives.The Nairobi senator went further, accusing Junet of secretly negotiating to sell out the ODM party to President William Ruto.

Sifuna maintained that he would oppose any attempt to re-elect President Ruto, whom he described as Kenya’s worst president to date.
