Mutula’s Leadership Disappoints Me, Kibwana Says

Former Makueni Governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana has expressed disappointment in his successor, Mutula Kilonzo Jnr, for failing to utilize infrastructure set up during his tenure to boost the rural economy.
Kibwana lamented the idle Makindu pulses factory, calling it a lost opportunity that could have eased pressure on farmers and revitalized the local pulses industry. He stressed that Makueni’s economy relies heavily on crops like green grams, pigeon peas, and cowpeas, which could yield significant gains with proper value addition.
His remarks follow accusations by Makueni Gubernatorial candidate Prof. Kaloki, who claimed Mutula has destroyed much of the progress Kibwana initiated, particularly in the health and agriculture sectors.
