Kitui Woman Representative aspirant Rhoda Kithuku on 10th December visited Musenge Village in Mutha Ward, Kitui South Constituency, where she donated food to residents who were recently attacked and displaced by camel herders.
Kithuku expressed deep concern over the dire conditions facing families now living in makeshift camps, noting that they remain vulnerable to disease outbreaks and wildlife attacks. She called for urgent humanitarian support to ensure their safety and well-being.
She further urged the national government to decisively address the recurring conflicts between herders and local communities. According to her, these perennial skirmishes can be resolved through long-term solutions, including the provision of adequate water sources for livestock to prevent the displacement of pastoralists into settled areas.
Kithuku reaffirmed her commitment to standing with affected families and advocating for sustainable peace in the region.
