Kitui County’s Ministry of Water and Irrigation has recorded impressive growth under the leadership of Chief Officer Nathan Vungo. Known for his transparency and hands-on approach, Vungo has steered the ministry to the top, earning praise from Governor Julius Makau Malombe and residents alike.

His tenure has seen increased water access, construction of sump wells, improved supply systems, and expanded irrigation support transforming water security across the county. Communities that once faced shortages are now benefiting from reliable and clean water.

With his contract set for renewal in March, many are calling on Governor Malombe to retain him so the ministry can build on the strong foundation already laid. Vungo’s results speak for themselves, and his continued leadership promises even greater progress for Kitui County.
