Weatherman Forecasts Depressed Rains in Kitui This Month

Residents of Kitui County should brace for intermittent and generally depressed rainfall throughout the month, according to the latest forecast from the national weatherman.

kitui, which falls under the South-Eastern Lowlands alongside Kajiado, Makueni, Machakos, Taita Taveta and Tana River, is expected to receive rainfall that is near to below the long-term average. Forecasters say the region will experience occasional showers with notable dry breaks, a pattern consistent with reduced moisture influx during this period.

The intermittent rainfall is unlikely to significantly boost water sources or agricultural activities, and farmers are advised to plan cautiously, particularly those relying on rain-fed agriculture. Local authorities may also need to monitor water availability and prepare for potential shortfalls if the dry spells persist.

Despite the reduced rains, the forecast does not rule out isolated showers, especially in areas closer to the highlands. Residents are encouraged to stay updated with subsequent advisories as conditions may vary within microclimates of the county.
